MyBlogLog...Why Am I Doing This Again?

Do you jump on the latest social media toy just because everybody else is, even if you have no idea what it's for?

An SEO at Cre8asiteforums stopped for a moment to ask, My Blog Log - Why Am I Doing This?

What am I supposed to do with it? Why is it good to have 'contacts'? I feel I'm missing something...or maybe really all it is for is the avatar thing.

While people commented on their various reasons for participating, my favorite one is the honest admission that although it may not be "mature", it's fun to see your friends' faces when they show up at your web house.

Well, MyBlogLog adds a social element to your blog. Which may help keep users more engaged in your blog and thus make for you a community.

I don't use it here, but I use it at my personal blog. I find it fun. Some features I do not like.

Why do I do it? It is fun to see who turns up on my blog. For a long while I was even saddo enough to screen capture popular visitors!

MyBlogLog.com is actually a good way to generate more traffic to your blog while using little effort. Since starting my blog less than two weeks ago, my main source of traffic has been MBL. It actually accounts for a little over 50% of my total traffic.

If you get involved with the Mybloglog community rather than just sticking it on your sidebar, or trying to game the system, you will gain infinitely more value from it.

A huge amount of the success of my blog comes from my involvement on other blogs in my MBL community, and the relationships I have made with quality bloggers are very real.
