Google Maps and the quality and accuracy has come up quite a few times over the past year or so. So what can you do if you need to report an issue with Google Maps?
A Google Groups thread has advice from Maps Guide Jen about how to fix map errors.
Jen explains that "map data errors - such as misspellings of town names, missing streets, etc - are often not the same as your business being located incorrectly." To suggest fixes for town names, missing streets, etc - Google uses both NAVTEQ and TeleAtlas for these things. So if you report the issues to them, Google will update the maps when they are released to them.

Google uses NAVTEQ for USA and TeleAtlas for other countries. It does not matter which map database they use, it is their mapping or routing engine which matters. I think Google's map engine has degraded a lot since and Yahoo's map has won over my preference for accurate map searches. Use this address for your test - 5450 Northwest Blvd, Plymouth, MN in Google and Yahoo and compare the results. It should be a Park or Playfield but Google directed me to someone's front yard!!!

My street name is incorrectly identified. I live on Rockwell Court, Austin, TX, 78726. It is transposed with Rockwell Place, Austin. They are exactly the opposite as shown.

12602 Point Dr, Gowen Michigan 49326. We used to send people our lake address through google maps but now it shows W point Drive, Gowen Michigan. And you cannot send them to the correct address. There's two address that are many miles apart on two different lakes. Check out Lincoln Lake Road & MacClain.. go off Kindy drive and it y's off to Point Dr. That is a different point Drive that google map used to send people to but now its sending them to W Point Drive in Gowen. 12602 Point is on Woodbeck Lake the other is Bass Lake that is further north.. not connected to the Woodbeck lake chain. Umm. What about incorrect Points of Interest that are on Google Maps and Earth? What if the business that is currently listed hasn't been there for a long time?

Have been mislead three times by google maps. Got to an appointment late one time because of this. Now have to verify against another map (or trusty Thomas Guide). So then what's the point of using Google maps anymore?

at location 48.452553,-123.375821 you have it as "Red Lion Inn". This is actually a Mr. Lube oil change place. The "Red Lion Inn" and "The Fox" strip club are at 48.451464,-123.375252 which is a block away.

Latitude, Longitude: 54.145570667846314, -7.227072715759277 A 200 meter section of my road (above reference) is missing from the recently launched Google Maps Street View of Ireland. I am wondering why?It is the part of the road with my house on it. Any ideas? The start of the road and the end of it are on the Maps, but not the bit in the middle!

All references are around zip code 22853. My Home is listed as Luray's Southern Grill. My home is 1728 US Hwy 340 N located at /or about 38 41 23 73 N 78 27 13 43 W. Cheverolet Drive starts at 38 44 55 73 W and loops around to 38 44 51 47 N 78 24 12 18 W. Wood Drive is at 38 44 57 11 N 78 24 09 49 W. Twins Lane is at 38 45 01 70 N 78 24 08 20 W. Lat and Long taken from Google Earth as near as possible .A Google Map mislabels my HOME as Luray's Southern Grill.

My address is 1561 Parker Road, Cantonment, FL 32533. I don't know who your driver was but they are mighty dam lucky TRESSPASSING on my property. I have 4 pit bulls, it is their job to keep people away from my home. They drove past 3 No Trespassing signs and 2 Beware of dog signs. I ain't on no paved road... the pig-trail that leads to my home is a quarter mile long... Most folks don't come see me cause it is so rough. I'd like to know just what your driver was thinking. I am gonna invest in one more sign... "If you can read this, you are in range." ... I would like to see this picture removed immediately or I am gonna set up an appointment with my lawyer and we'll see about that. I don't bother anyone, and I don't want to be bother. Also, the old couple next door have a ''Tomberlin Lane' road sign down at the road. ...It doesn't matter, your driver should have never left the asphalt.

THE MARKER LOCATION OF MANY PLACES IS INCORRECT NEAR MY AREA IN MUMBAI I HAVE VERIFIED AND COMPLAINT FOR MARKER LOCATIONS MANY TIMES FROM APPLICATION BUT STILL IS SHOWS THE SAME, ALSO I HAVE DONE IT ONLINE ON MAPS BUT STILL IT IS SAME ALSO THE MAP DATA AND SATELITE PICTURES THAT ARE SHOWN ARE VERY OLD AND THERE IS A LOT OF CHANGE IN INFRASTRUCTURE SO PLEASE UPGRADE AND ALSO VERIFY AND CHANGE LOCATION MARKERS AS IT MANY TIMES LEAD TO MISDIRECTUON IN DRIVING DIRECTIONS THANKS

Yas Tunnel opened (to geat fanfare) over a year ago, is used by thousands of drivers every day, and is shown on google.com/maps as...Yas Tunnel. But try getting directions from anything near the NE portal to anything near the SW portal (or vice versa) and you will discover that "report a problem" doesn't work in UAE

Zia Persian gulf is not shown on google world map.Persian gulf is most historical name from 2500 years ago.Why u did not put the name of persian gulf on the map.the bigest misstake you did.you should fix it immediatly otherwise nobody trust you.
