Microsoft adCenter Continues Serving Ads 60 Hours Beyond Pausing Campaign

Sep 11, 2006 • 7:19 am | comments (1) by twitter Google+ | Filed Under Microsoft Bing Ads (formerly adCenter)

A Search Engine Watch Forums thread accounts a Microsoft adCenter advertiser getting billed over $1,500 after having paused an ad he was running. Not only that, he paused the ad over 60 hours ago and the ad has yet to be paused. This means, that until the ad pauses and is removed from MSN Search and Windows Live Search, the advertiser will continue to be billed.

The advice given?

get aggressive! Just cancel your credit card. Or take a much more drastic action, close down your account and contact help center to open a new account.

Forum discussion at Search Engine Watch Forums.

Update: Also more frustration at WebmasterWorld.

I have problems with Microsoft AdCenter also. Soon after the merger with Yahoo, I had to keep editing the campaign to be geographically specific as it kept reverting back to a national ad when I wanted it to serve 3 New England states. They get more money from us when it is served nationally. Also, after frustration with that causing me to pause all campaigns until I could more attention to it, and hopefully they could get things right.... I notice that my campaigns have been running for months! Even though I put them on hold. Things must be bad a Microsoft Ads as they are stealing from would be customers. Anyone else experiencing this kind of thing?
