To read the article, you need to register at the times, its free and quick. The article is named Google's Shadow Payroll Is Not Such a Secret Anymore. The article basically uses Shawn as a case study for the Google AdSense program, hence the "shadow payroll" of thousands of publishers getting paid by Google.
