Anti Penguin Link Building, Really?

There is an ad running on this site that pitches "Anti Penguin Link Building," well Penguin is spelled Pinguin in the ad (maybe German).

Have we learned nothing over the years? Seriously pitching Anti Penguin Link Building services? Really?

Anti Penguin Link Building Ad

I know the advertiser is going to hate me for this but I just find it incredibly frustrating. Yes, Penguin is hot now, people who are hit or afraid of being hit would latch onto the ad. It is an ad that will likely get clicks on to learn more but it is the wrong message to the SEO industry.

Link building is done by most SEO companies. To be honest, the rational behind building links naturally is somewhat of an oxymoron. To build links naturally, you should never need to ask for a link - let alone pay someone to get you links.

Anyway, I can't blame the advertiser. I bet the click through rate on ads like this do well. But I wish we didn't have them.

thank you for having the guts to call out your advertisers instead of just blindly accepting their money like most SEO sites do. (example: all the ones proudly displaying topSEOS banners and such)

Like you said, can't blaim them to some extent, the click trough rate is probably of the chart... I can say for sure that the number of inquries from potential clients has almost doubled in the last few weeks, and most of them either hit or afraid of Penguin... so the ad like this makes perfect sense from business point of view, but I also agree that it's misleading at best and it shouldn't exist! great job for pointing it out, even with the cost of being hated by the advertiser :)

i HATE TopSEOS. one of my former employers bragged about that - and for all that bragging, what did it do? I laugh him to scorn now.

The advertiser is intelligent because he managed to rub your hair the wrong way and give him a ton of free advertising. How come you guys are falling for one of the oldest tricks in the book? Haha!

How about advertising 'Post-Penguin Link Building Services'??? Is the sentiment really 'against' penguin... or rather to avoid Pengiun-like penalties? In this case perhaps a logo should be shown of a penguin crushing a company (website) with a red X over it, rather than an anvil crushing a penguin. ;)

They can't even even spell Penguin correctly in their ad.

Another thing you have to see is, in their website they show us the graph of January and calling this as success stories to those who were hit by penguin? is Penguin introduce on January :D

well said, you never know these companies which claiming to offer "Anti Penguin Link Building" their own site might hit from Penguin Google update, the most important question is how they are going to do "Anti Penguin Link Building" . Are they really gonna do that, what previously they were doing. I think these companies are not reliable, it's better to hire some extra hands for link building, might cost little more but you will get much satisfied results.

well, I guess that they wouldn't be advertising it, if no one would be interested in their "anti Pinguin inbound link building" :)
