Google Labor Day LogoGoogle AdWords representative, Mini, started a Google AdWords Help thread asking people to submit some of their best practices for labor day AdWords campaigns.

Mini from Google said:

What are some ad text changes/landing page changes or other changes or best practices suggested for my AdWords account to make the best of the Labor Day weekend? How can I improve my sales during the Labor day weekend using AdWords?

Can we share some best practices?

So far, no one has replied and Labor Day is this coming Monday.

So if you have any tips, do go to the thread and share.

And maybe this year, Google will post a labor day logo but historically, they have not - although they have in other countries.

- Actually use 'labor day sale' or 'labor day' related message' in Text & Banner ads (its unbelievable how many websites don't use it... and miss out on such events) - You can display this message on Landing Pages as well, and test conversions - BID higher on SALE & DEAL related forums & portals as those are full of activity during such days

If nothing else, create an ad promoting your latest sale with "Labor Day Sale" in your ad title. And just like Syed mentioned, it would definitely help to optimize the landing page. Some strong ad and matching landing page text would include:   "This weekend only" "Only [x] number of days left" *you get it. And without question, be aggressive with increased bids to out rank your competition. You'd be surprised how many businesses don't do this! Have fun! Andrew
