YouTube Extends Upload Limit Past 2.5 Hours

YouTube announced they have extended the upload limits to "videos that are longer than 15 minutes." They did this for "selected users with a history of complying with the YouTube Community Guidelines."

How would you know if you are one of those users who have it? YouTube said go to the upload section and it would give you a message. Personally I do not see this, I believe I have had unlimited upload rights for a while now, but some do.

As you can see, the video restrictions still say up to 15 minutes but it says:

Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video.

I personally don't see restrictions in my upload section. Here is a picture:

Anyway, I am a weekly publisher on YouTube, so I am glad to see this limit extended. Exactly how much was it extended? Hard to say, folks in the YouTube Help forum said they uploaded a video which was about 2.5 hours. So at least that long.
