Google and Yahoo Got Lucky T-Shirt

Back also 24 years ago, on June 26, 2000, Google and Yahoo had a partnership party and printed t-shirts that read, "Google and Yahoo Got Lucky."

It was the date Yahoo selected Google to power its search results - a very important date for Google. Google replaced Inktomi as Yahoo's search provider. You can read the official press release on blogpost, where Google posted this news in those days...

Douglas Edwards, Google employee number 59, shared photos of the t-shirt on LinkedIn this week and wrote, "Cleaning out the closet and found this old rag. I think it was my first non-generic Google shirt, which Susan Wojcicki pulled together before Dylan Casey took over premium production."

This was about 3 years before I started covering search and Google.

How times have changed!

Oh, there is another photo of the shirt on LinkedIn.

This post is part of our daily Search Photo of the Day column, where we find fun and interesting photos related to the search industry and share them with our readers.
