Google ShieldFour days ago, a police sergeant from the Long Branch Police Department in Long Branch, New Jersey posted in the Google Web Search Help forums reporting a public safety issue on Google.

Specifically, when you searched for [Long Branch Police Department phone number] the phone number for the West Long Branch police department came up instead and it is causing a public safety issue says Sergeant, James P. Gomez.

Here is a screen shot of the issue:

Wrong Police Number Google Long

Here is what you get when you search for West Long Branch version:

Wrong Police Number Google West Long

After days and days of waiting, the Police Sergeant said:

23 hours and i have received no updates or information from the Google Team. I guess Public Safety is not an issue with Google!!

Then about 12 hours ago from the post date/time of this story, Google's community manager, AJ, said:

Thank you for writing in, and thank you for providing this important piece of feedback! I'll be reaching out to you via a private message in a few minutes.

The phone number is still incorrect even after Google acknowledged receiving the message 12 hours ago.
