Google: Shared IP Addresses Are Fine For Search

Google Slums

Google's John Mueller once again said on Twitter that using a shared IP with other web sites, even if some of those sites are slummy or considered bad neighborhoods, is fine. "Shared IP addresses are fine for search!," John said. He added "lots of hosting / CDN environments use them."

This is really not new news, we covered it many times in the past, most recently here. In the rare case Google may ban a whole free host or co.cc path but it is incredibly rare.

So don't worry too much about your IP address, worry more about your web site, content and how you build your site.
