Google Shows Someone Removed Your URL? It Might Be A Reporting Bug.

Oct 22, 2012 - 8:56 am 1 by

Google WebmasterA Google Webmaster Help thread has a scary report of one webmaster noticing in the Index Status under "advanced," as showing two URLs were removed from being included in Google's index.

But the webmaster did not submit the removal request. So why would Google report them as being requested as removed? It is a bug.

Google's John Mueller said it seems to be some sort of bug. He wrote in the thread:

This looks like a quirk on our side and not something that you'd need to worry about. I'll double-check about it with the team, but this wouldn't be negatively affecting your sites performance or appearance in search in any way.

So you don't have to worry, Google said it isn't impacting this site in a negative way. But I can see how this can be very disconcerting.
