SEOs and Webmasters are getting restless, it has been over a year since the last official Penguin update, which was Penguin 3.0. After hearing the news that we still have time to clean our links for Penguin, webmasters wondered if we are still far away from an update.

Well, Garry Illyes from Google said on Twitter that the update still should be on schedule by the end of 2015, so within only a couple more months.

The next Penguin update will be real time and continuous so link cleaning will happen all the time, and Penguin fixes shouldn't have to wait too long. Google did tell us already Penguin 4.0 will be by end of the year, but after the news from yesterday, some wanted a reassurance.

Of course, Google may end up not releasing it until 2016, it all depends on what they find in their tests. But for Gary to say in 2015, it must be close.
