Google Moved

Google announced they are moving all of their Google Blogs from the blogspot.com domain to the googleblog.com domain.

Why are they doing this? Google said "to help people recognize when they're reading an official blog from Google." Indeed that is important because there are many unofficial Google blogs on the blogspot domain that may appear to be official Google blogs.

John Mueller of Google said "these changes will roll out to all of Google’s blogs over time." The good news, the "previous address will redirect to the new domain." But it seems like the RSS feeds will not migrate at this time from the looks of it.

Former Googler, Pedro Dias said on Google+ that you should "update your feeds, because at the moment it doesn't redirect."

John Mueller added on Twitter that it is "time to test some of those site migration tips." Good luck with that Google.

Forum discussion at Twitter.

Update: John Mueller said they are working on migrating the RSS feeds also, I do hope so.

Update 2: The RSS feeds now redirect nicely.
