Man Blames Google For Ruining His Marriage Proposal

Google Diamond Ring

A man named Alex Denny posted a complaint to Google in the Google Web Search Help forums stating that Google has ruined his marriage proposal.

He said that he let his girlfriend use his laptop several years ago. She signed in on his laptop and never signed out. So when he did searches, his girlfriend was able to see all his searches on her own device - since Alex was doing searches under his girlfriend's Google Account.

Google Web History keeps track of all those searches, for a very long time.

He said he was recently searching for wedding rings and diamond engagement ring and his girlfriend was aware of it, which ruined the surprise proposal.

He said "Google has genuinely ruined me engagement plans."

So all this time his girlfriend was tracking his searches and never found any clue of him cheating or doing something inappropriate in Google. It was the wedding ring searches that blew his surprise proposal.

Every now and then I like to cover this funny and interesting cases of Google in the real world, with real people and real problems. Here is one more case.

Lesson: Do not use your girlfriend or boyfriends Google Account to search for things you don't want them to know about.
