Google Maps Business Verification Via Email Address?

Google Maps recently tested the ability to verify your business using video verification but Google is constantly testing different methods of business verification.

Kiran C Kumar posted on Twitter that he is receiving an option to verify his Google My Business listing via email confirmation. How easy is that?

You can see, Google is giving this business own three options to verify their listing:

(1) By email now

(2) By phone now

(3) By mail postcard for later.

I assume the email is at the official domain name of the business and the email address is listed somewhere on the official web site. So it can work well, assuming the site was not hacked.
