Google: Your Forums Are Likely Not The Reason Your Site Dropped In Search

Are you worried that your discussion forums on your domain is bringing down your overall domain's rankings in Google? Well, most webmasters and SEOs would be worried about that. In fact, many closed their forums or blocked them from Google because of that fear.

But Google's Gary Illyes said on Twitter that it is "unlikely" that your discussion forums are bringing down your site's overall rankings.

The question asked was "Could my forum be dragging down my site because, perhaps, Google thinks it's light on content?" Gary said "unlikely," in his response:
