Google announced a delay in processing applications for access to the Google Business Profile API. This was posted by Victoria Kroll in multiple languages in the Google Business Profiles support forum.
Victoria Kroll wrote in the Google Business Profiles Forums, "Due to an unusually high volume of API applications, processing times are currently extended."
She added that Google is "working diligently to process all applications" but "as of this time," Google "cannot provide a specific response timeframe for pending applications," she added.
Kroll asked to "not submit additional applications while your initial application is pending." "Once your application has been submitted, you do not need to do anything further," she added.
Local SEO, Krystal Taing, added on LinkedIn:
If you’ve applied for access to the Google Business Profile API and haven’t heard back yet, or you’re still seeing 0 quota, you’re not alone!Google is currently experiencing a very high volume of API access requests and is actively working through the backlog.
It is not super uncommon for the Google Business Profile to get backed up on manual requests for things.
Google also has this across its whole Google Business Profiles help area, it says "We are currently experiencing higher than usual wait times for support. You may find quick answers to common questions in our Help Center/FAQs."
