Google at I/O announced a bunch of updates to Google Assistant and Google Home. Let me sum up the announcements in bullet format for all those who are busy:

  • Google Assistant is coming to iOS devices
  • Google Home devices can make phone calls for free, without a phone number attached to it.
  • Proactive notifications are coming to Google Home but who looks at their Google Home
  • Type to your Google Assistant on phones
  • Google Lens lets you take photos and converse with Google Assistant around that
  • and it is expanding to more countries and languages
