Publishers who are using Google AdSense are complaining that the email notifications they get from Google about their revenues and earnings are simply wrong. Some are saying it is off by 20% or more.

A thread at WebmasterWorld has a bunch of complaints from publishers. Here is what some of these publishers had to say about these notifications:

Someone noticed the inconsistencies in the AdSense monthly earning email about last month "revenue" ?

It is totally wrong

Email notification number is 20 % of the expected payment.

Likewise, email showed 75% down.

Yes same here, totally wrong.

I guess publishers have learned to ignore these emails and wait for the actual payment to be issued. I am not sure why Google cannot just use the exact number used in the payments screen in these emails?
