Al Gore At Google On The Future

Paul Wilcox, an Android Community Manager at Google, posted a picture of Al Gore giving a talk at Google yesterday. His talk was to promote his new book, The Future. Paul said he has heard Al Gore speak a few times before, but this time he was far more passionate about his talk.

He said his book and talk was about "What drives global change?" Although Al Gore didn't go into details, because he wanted Googlers to buy his book, he spoke for an hour on:

  • An increasingly globalized economy
  • Global sharing of information
  • Shifting balances of political power
  • Outgrowing our means of production without accounting for long-term effects
  • Rapid advances in medicine
  • Pushing our climate too hard

For more details, see Paul's Google+ post.

Note, I do not know if the video of his talk will be made publicly available or not.
