Google's Stopwatch Stops Ticking

In August, Google launched a stopwatch like feature where you can search for [set timer for X] and Google would launch a stopwatch timer.

This feature has stopped working.

It use to work somewhat like this, as I captured in our animated GIF.

Google Timer / Stop Watch

Now, all I see are search results:

Google's Stopwatch Stops Ticking

Google has not responded to the complaint in the Google Web Search Help forum yet, so Ia m not sure if this is a bug or something Google removed on purpose.

Forum discussion at Google Web Search Help.

Yup. Same problem here. I had a shortcut for a timer that would track coffee brewing in a french press. Worked great for months, but now all I get is a regular search. What's up with that?

Wow. I thought I was doing wrong. Glad it's not just me but bummed because this was such a handy tool to have.

I was wondering why this didn't work the other day. Shame. I hope it comes back as it was pretty useful.

I loved this timer feature and used it all the time for all kinds of things. Google is really becoming quite irritating. They are taking all the good stuff away and their search results are even becoming less than stellar. I wish they were not so obsessed with becoming FB. We needed and loved google but will have to get a divorce if all they offer is google+ and paid search ads

http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/websearch/GEKK_ByXV0w According to this, the timer will return. They are working on fixing that feature.
