Google Search Tools Not Functioning For Some

Google Search Tools

With the launch of the new top down navigation, which is also now global - many users are not getting accustomed to the new location for the "search tools."

Some are saying that the feature does not work for them. It shows up and disappears after they click on the option. I cannot replicate it but there is a vast number of complaints in the Google Web Search Help forum.

The complaints say it mostly happens in Chrome, but I tested it in Chrome and it works - and I bet you Google tested it in Chrome as well.

Despite that, yesterday, a Google representative said:

Hi all, thanks for the updated info. I'm going to investigate this, and may get back to you with some more questions. Stay tuned.

Do you have this issue?

Yep, I have this issue. It's also not working with Firefox. Only on this computer, not others. Very strange.

I'm having the same problem today in Firefox. It was working fine up until today.

PROBLEM SOLVED! The same thing happened to me on Firefox tonight. On a whim, I deleted all my cookies to see if that would make a difference, and voila! My search tools work again!

Yes, in Firefox. Have tried clearing cache, which some posters at the forum you link to said worked for them. No dice.

Well I can't see "news" anywhere anymore, and that's one of the features I use the most. Really annoying. What have I done wrong??? It just isn't there along with web, images, and some more annoying and unnecessary categories... :-( I'm using Firefox, btw.

As another user suggested, I too cleared the cookies from the browser (using chrome) and it has resolved the problem. Search tools functionality is now restored.

I'm having the problem on Ubuntu Linux, on both Chrome and Firefox.

I'm having this issue today as well. It's very, very annoying, and seems like a simple fix

I think Google is just getting too big to not fail, because I'm having the same problem with their main service, the search engine. What ever I type in the main box, I get nothing but blanks, but when I type something in the small box in top right hand corner, of the address bar, I only have access to page 1 of the results. This just started happening about 5 days ago, and yet, there seems to be no salute, not even reinstalling the search engine. I always thought Google was too good to always work right.

Started having this issue in Firefox a few days ago, still happening. Works fine in IE.
