Google Now - Left WorkGoogle announced on Google+ that they have upgraded Google Now features to add in seven plus new types of Google Now card notifications.

The most interesting to me is that it integrates with Google+ Locations and let's you see when your employees or co-workers get to work, leave work, get home and so forth. It can also notify you when your kids leave school or get to school.

Joe LePenna from Google said on Google+:

Huge news today in Google+ Locations! When someone shares their pinpoint location with you, Google Now will notify you when they're on their commute to or from work or home! This is a great way to coordinate with teammates at the office or family at home.

This is one of the many integrations we're bringing to Google using G+ Locations as a starting point. We hope you love it and are looking forward to bring Location Sharing out of just one app and into many more.

Here is a screen shot here shared:

Of course, the person on the other end has to allow you to see this stuff. It is specifically called commute sharing and there are tons of preferences and settings around it.

Google Now: What Else Is New

Location sharing has always, in all its variations, creeped the hell out of me.

Google is pushing for another loss of privacy here. I wonder how punctuality will be used in profiling people with all of the other data Google collects on individuals?

Slightly creepy, especially if employers started enforcing that this was mandatory.

Isn't this the same as Apple's find friends?

Nothing slightly about it! This is Google moving towards being the creepiest Company in the history of mankind!

How can Google tell if you are punctual or not?

Interesting! So with is apps you can longer lose sight of people you care about, as you'll always know their where-about every moment. Interesting! very good for parents who may be concerned about when their kids get to or leave school

Most people can now choose to not allow Google record any data on location from them. Once companies will start using this as a clock for work hours most people will just leave this on and thus allow Google to occasionally follow them and gather even more data about them... someone said ads?
