Google NowYesterday at Google I/O, the show was really mostly about hardware and non directly related search items. There was one topic on search, Google Now.

Google Now is likely the future of Google's mobile search experience. It provides you with search results and answers before you even need them. Google said, "Google Now gets you just the right information at just the right time."

Greg Sterling explained the mobile search experience:

  • An improved Google search UI (incorporating the Knowledge Graph for more structured results)
  • A Siri-like female voice to read you search results (in some circumstances)
  • Google Now (a capability that takes your calendar, location and other data inputs and gives you information with no formal query prompting)

Google Now displays "cards" of information when you need them. For example, when is your next calendar appointment, what are directions that avoid traffic to that appointment, what is the menu of the restaurant you are sitting in, the list goes on.

So Google now: rips off Apple on Android, rips off Amazon on the Nexus, rips off Facebook on Google+ and now rips off Siri.. What a great, innovating company. Going back to Bing now. Sorry, Google. You're a bunch of chumps.

Dude you're an idiot. It's called being competitive in a market. Why be restricted to one type of phone, One type of OS, ect? Part of being in a competitive market is build upon the foundations of existing tech in order to create an innovative world while still adhereing to legal restrictions. Goole Now and Google Search have been combined to become something better than what Siri has to offer. If it doesn't suit your taste, than that's fine. But don't go bagging a company for trying to be innovative and giving everyone a choice.
