Did You Notice Google Changes Their Logo?

Did you notice Google changed their logo again? I didn't but most people should not have noticed. All they did was shift the letters a bit around, a few pixels. The easiest way to visualize it is with this animated GIF that Ron Amadeo posted on Google+.

Google Logo Change

I am shocked anyone even noticed this change, the change is so slight, only those who sharp eyes would have picked it up.

This was first spotted by a sharp eye on Reddit.

Google moved the "g" left one pixel and the "l" down and left one pixel on their logo.

What a huge difference!

No, SEO is not going anywhere for the time being and social media is on the boom everywhere specially in asia. In upcoming days, there would be more in SEO and its process after all this is organic approach. Just think about this Osse.

Oh, very important to get the g and l in just the right position Google - but where is the honor to our soldiers who gave their lives for the country that allows you the freedom to be successful? crickets.

The before is typographically correct as far as I remember from college when we set type by hand. The bottom of the o and e should be slightly below the base line.

Maybe they started paying more attention to their logo's perfection after Steve Jobs' phone call incident when he call some Google executive and told them that their logo is flawed. In fact I'm watching their Copyright message in Gmail. A "space" is missing between "©" and "2014" since ages. They corrected the same on homepage few months/years back.. but this one remains unchanged. And yes, great find. This is the reason why I love Redditors. :)

Well, if you think it' not significant... then obviously you're not obsessed with #Design. Yes, this doesn't really mean anything to others (or most people)... but design nerds are everywhere they are the ones who gets excited about these things. Redditors are well known for that... you'll be amazed if you read some discussions or facts... regardless of the topic. :)

I don't understand why they ignored the Memorial Day holiday. I read that they later put the tiny picture up that I saw yesterday after getting complaints.

I think the O's need two little horns, a barbed tail, and should hold a pitchfork.

Yeah, in lines with more than one word, this is correct. But the word "Google" has only one letter which sits on the regular font baseline. Also this is a good example to show the difference between setting type and graphic design.
