Google AdSense logoLast week, Google confirmed the new AdSense favicons would go live and over the weekend they did.

In fact, many publishers are noticing the new favicons showing up in all the various text ad formats they have on their site. While many don't like how they may look, most are agreeing that the CTR, click through rate, is up on all of these ads. You can read the reaction of publishers and their CTR responses in WebmasterWorld.

Of course, whenever the standard look and feel of AdSense ads change, CTR is always impacted. Soon, after readers become accustomed to the new ad format, the CTR may drop back down again. Then Google will change the standard again to increase CTR.
