Google Maps Reviews Gone Missing Again!

There are dozens of reports from business owners complaining their reviews listing on their Google Place pages are missing, or many are. There are many threads with complaints, but I'll link you to one at Google Places Help.

In that thread, Googler Stephan S. said:

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention and sorry for the slow response.

We suffered a temporary indexing outage beginning of October that prevented us from correctly serving reviews for some listings. The reviews should now be restored. Very sorry for the trouble this has caused for some of you!

Please let me know if you are experiencing further problems. If you are, please provide me with the following information to help us get to the bottom of the issue: * URL of the affected listing (you can find it by clicking on "Link" in the top right bar of your listing's Place Page) * are reviews missing from the "Reviews by Google users" or "Reviews from around the web" section * date reviews went missing * number of reviews missing

The thing is, many are still missing reviews. Typically, if a review goes missing they'll come back, eventually. But maybe when Google divided the reviews it caused some additional issues?

Thank you for posting this! This is a major problem for at least dozens of small business owners like myself. Google responded once and has been silent for over a week now. Hopefully more publicity will encourage them to resolve this, if that's possible. And if it's not, hey -- let us know! Then at least we won't have to check our place page everyday hoping they reappear.

I heard that Google had become God and decided some reviews were 'spammy' and took the Omnipotent decision to get rud of loads, but if someone loves you they are going to write a glowing review it's up to the person reading it to make their own mind up. It's not Google's job to decide what's spammy or not. I think it's a bit of both they thought about censoring reviews then decided against it half way through and now blamed it on a glitch. Well mine have not re-appeared yet, they have been gone a fortnight!

I've lost 60 positive reviews. They've been gone for almost two weeks now and placed us as the best jewellery design company in Australia. Years of hard work and client's LEGITIMATE reviews gone.
