Is Yahoo Embarrassed Over Bing Powering Their Results?

As we know, Yahoo said the transition to Bing powered Yahoo organic search results is going to happen anytime this week. Well, many are now seeing the "Powered by Bing" label on the results.

I see them as well, and here is a picture:

Yahoo Powered By Bing

You see that? The font size is what you find in little disclaimers, the type font size used when you have to say something, but you are embarrassed or don't want people to see it. The font size is 8, sometimes Google bans sites for hiding text in that font size (kidding). Here is a larger picture, full size.

Yahoo seemed so proud over their partnership with Bing. Then why make the "Powered by Bing" so small? Why not link to Bing also? Is Yahoo ashamed that they failed at core search?

You talk about Yahoo like they're a single person with a single opinion. I'm sure some of the search engineers are a little embarrassed but all stakeholders? Doubtful. I would guess Yahoo's logic for choosing the font size they choose had more to do with user experience and the "weight" of the page (same logic Marissa Mayer used when Google added the Privacy link to the homepage and removed the word, "Google" from the copyright statement) as opposed to embarrassment. Of course I could be wrong, but it seems more logical to me than what you're suggesting. And then again, it could have something to do with something neither of us know anything about.
