The most important topic for search marketers, in my mind, is the notion of third-parties (like competitors) negatively influencing the search rankings for a given web page. I was surprised that so many SEOs surveyed thought this was possible. My thinking is that Google does not usually penalize for factors outside of a webmaster's control (for the very reason that it's not under her control).

Nice recap of the week. The one topic that I think is of most interest is the poll results concerning links to hurt competition. This is a subject that definitely warrants more information and discussion.

Tips on changes in localized search are always helpful to me. This week, the info on the re-routing of the Yahoo! domain outside of the US, and the location in PPC ads was the most important to me. I would also like more info as it is available on the changes at the Yahoo! Search Ambassador Program.
