How Long Does It Take Google To Find Great Links?

A WebmasterWorld thread asks how long on average would you guess that it takes Google to find good links and act on it?

Let's assume that this site gives off "good links" when I link to someone. For example, I am going to link to Justilien who suggests in the WebmasterWorld thread that;

For a high-quality link from a site with "a lot of trust" I have seen it affect rankings in as little as a week.

He should see a bump up in some of his rankings in Google on about November 3rd from that link.

I'll be honest, people have told me that soon after I linked to them from within an article on this site, their rankings did improve.

I think it all goes back to trust. You get links from trustworthy sites, you become more trustworthy yourself.

hey rusty feel free to use any of my sites if you want to test again how fast trustworthy links are found :)

I have seen benefit passed from trusted links in less than a week. I have seen it take up to two weeks for a trusted link to pass value. It depends on more factors than we know about, but you make a sound, cogent point. The trused links help validate domains, especially new domains.

Benefit time is determined by many other factors, including age of the linked to site. One example: I created a link to a 'los angeles finance' website. nothing happened for 6 months, then suddenly he was on page 1.

Would that mean that every PR7 Site has the same trust and has the same influence?

I have a hard time getting in the top10 with this site www.bosnian-pyramid.net and try to find out if such a link would really do the big jump.

I guess it all comes back to trust, does it?

So how long does it take? What makes the site trustworthy? The PR? If so what PR is considered trust worthy?
