Google PageRank Update Underway

Yes, an other Google PageRank update is underway. For example DigitalPoint.com has some data centers reporting a PageRank of 8, when it is currently at a PageRank on 7. Check the DigitalPoint's pagerank at this tool.

The data centers with the new PR at this point in time are:
DC: 66.102.7.99
DC: 66.102.7.104
DC: 66.102.7.147

As far as SEO, does this really matter? Again, the visible PR in that toolbar does not mean as much as it did 4 years ago.

You can also see our forums jumping up from a PR4 to a PR6.

Finally!!! I was put into the sandbox on one of my sites about 3 months ago, and have been sitting on a nasty PR0 since then. I knew I had been out of the SB for about 3 weeks now because I started ranking again for certain queries. I check that site and it looks like they have given me a PR3, which is not what it was before I was SBoxed, but it is nice to see what I already knew confirmed.

The interesting thing is that the links I gathered before the SB are still carrying weight in my query results, but they are not being applied to the PR. Only the links I have gathered in the last few weeks are being used.

It seems to be only older sites updating - from checking my sites against the different DCs, it appears that my 'older, established' sites and domains are all moving while my newer sites are all staying at PR0.

This is strange to me as my article site at http://www.free-journal-articles.com has much higher-quality backlink data than any of my other sites, yet is staying at a PR0.

I noticed the same thing. All my newer sites are still PR0.

I have got PR4 now... So happy to see that pld green bar... increasing for me too...

So in your experience if you see a different PR than you had before, then that will be the new one? My site was PR3 and now there are PR6's floating around at the tool mentioned in the above post. They're not staying put -- particular servers will flip-flop from PR3 to PR6 and back.

Is Google toying with me or will it definitely settle at PR6 after all is said and done?

i don't know how how the PR works, google still put me in PR1

I suffer from the same. An old website had a PR of three, and it’s been up for years although I didn’t do any marketing at all.

My new blog, although only a month old, has PR 0, but I’ve done a lot of work and have gotten a lot of links back to it via articles, web directories and so on. Very strange!

pr update what a difficult thing. google help pls . still 0 still 0 .

Pagerank is very important for some issues, but it should not be the only thing that site owners focus on. Because a website has lots of other features than PR. Nowadays a new update is coming and webmasters' love of PR is seen very clearly.

waiting when users will write about me... need to add more... submitted to Google 3 months ago, still 50000 pages indexed - I have more than 1,500,000!!! 250ms average response time, but Google still crawls a page each few minutes, not seconds...

To Albert, sometimes you don't need to do anything. Google's target is a natural PR distribution, maybe some website with good pagerank is linking to you without your knowledge

I agree, I looked up my website a feww days ago on google and there are people from all over the place writing reviews for my site. I like that !

Albert - just keep your focus on links and content. Your real PR is probably going up dynamically even without the toolbar update. So real PR is what affects your rankings and thats where the value is, right?

Update has come and gone ! It's good to see google is doing a good job of ranking sites. I am still not comfortable with their algorithm.

how often does google update it's PR?

I have got PR3 now... but i have a directory inside which has PR4

thanks,

Here is a tool http://www.pagerank-monitor.com/ that will crawl your site and show pagerank and summary for up to 2000 pages. It's a nice way to monitor pagerank changes. Last change on my site was one week ago, so something is going on.

I wonder when is the next pagerank update. Heard it was suppose to be at the end of July. I'm waiting like forever.

Most of the SEO blogs, downplay the value of Google Page Rank saying it is out of date by the time it is published. However, given that there are so many unknowns in the world of SEO, I would say it is a great to have a measure to at least give you an indication as to the success of otherwise of your SEO efforts. Therefore, my interest in the next Google PR update. At the time of writing, it has been 120 days since the last PR update and the blogisphere seems to have gone quite on predicting when the next update will happen. Does anyone have any thoughts on what is going on and when the next PR update will happen?

The PR update is happening, but remember that it can take 2-3 weeks for complete indexing. I still await my own updates.

new updates can come anytime and webmasters' love of PR is seen very clearly. but for me i hope google ged rid of TBPR

Any one know of any future pagerank predictor service? There used to be a few that worked but they stopped working somehow...

Is page rank still largely based on inbound links?

I take the point that page rank has little or no bearing on success but it a least indicates how well you are developing inbound links.

I have 3 websites there has been no changes in PR of any of my sites since last 4 months. Moreover as far as I know, all PR with N/A goes PR0 after every update. But it has not been so for me. Therefore seems no PR update for me.

As of now there has not been a Toolbar PR export for 138 days. The longest time between toolbar PR exports recorded in the below Page Rank Export List was 122 days (Oct 19/2005 to Feb 18/2006). What's going on?

M7 blog is 6 - 7 months old now, is this considered new? My page rank has stayed the same since the last update several months ago..

there have been updates to the Pagerank if you want more info you can see this at www.googlebugs.com

Looking forward to the next pagerank update, my website is new but has been rapidly building backlinks, curious to see if I get a nice PR boost or if Google SB's me for too many backlinks.

Today is Jan 03, 2008, when was the last PR update and when should the next one be?

Is it every 3 months sends out a PR update?

I dot the same experience. Previously on pr5 now pr2

When will be come the google next PR update. Other seo companies said that Google PR update only come 1-2 times in a year. Is it true?

My understanding of it is that Google Update PR regularly, however they only publish PR once in a while and when they do the PR is already outdated. Published PRs I think tend to run around 3-4 months old. Last update I have was between 2/28/08 and 3/8/08.

Like you said, clearly we are due another PR update. From the novarossi guys!

I'm so happy my site is went from page rank 0 to 4. My hard works is paying off.
