200,000 AMD Opteron Processors Find a New Home at Google

I just reported over at the SEW blog that Google to Switch from Intel to AMD Chips. That is huge from AMD, the news sprung the stock up by $1.40 to $40.07 that day. But more importantly, 200,000 lonely Opteron processors have found a new home at the Google server farm.

As far as I understand the news, Google is going to buy AMD processors for all new servers. So the 200.000 existing servers will probably not be switched to AMD.

 

From $1.40 to $40.07 is untrue..

the article says it went up by $1.40 and ended on $40.07 so it started the day on $38.67

AMD Processor is really good. I am using it from last 2 years and haven't got any problem.

Now, Google is also going to use it.
