Jim Lanzone of Ask Jeeves posted a Thanks, Jeeves blog entry at the Ask Blog. He explains all the reasons why it is time for Jeeves to retire, in that blog post, so it is worth a read. There is also a special Jeeves retirement site at www.jeevesretirement.com/desk.

The Ask.com homepage currently is sporting a link to it as such;

Chris Sherman has the official Search Engine Watch article on Jeeves Retires.

I know that to you this is just another comment to bring back Jeeves, but seriously, do you guys even check these comments? Look at all the people that want Jeeves back! Maybe to you, i'm just another one of those people, but please bring back jeeves, whenever I come on now, I see this empty page with the word "Ask." How stupid.

it was not a smart carreer move to take away jeeves. Do you think we're all 5 year-olds? Jeeves didnt "retire" you erased him and give me one good reason why that was smart. And you say We're the ones with the brain of a five-year old. Ha, yeah right.

Okay "Dipper Dominico" if someone put a cup of soda and a cup of mud in front of you, which one would you drink? Im guessing you said soda. well its the same in this situation. Jeeves is the soda, ask.com is the mud. which would you choose? a***h**le

Jeeves as usual became to popular and they had to shut him up so they said they gave him a nice long retirement with a 9mm as payment. Ask.com you will burn if you do not tell us what you did to Jeeves! P.S I will settle down if you just even put his dead corpse on the site.

Jeeves was like Superman. When you needed something, who came to the rescue? Jeeves did. When you needed a shoulder to cry on, who was there? Jeeves was. So why would someone take him away? You say he is retired, but we BEG TO DIFFER. He may be on vacation in somewhere nice, drinking a pina colada on the beach and enjoying the view. Or he could be drunk in a night club somewhere, getting down with his bad self. But wherever he is, it is not here. And we miss him. He was like a father to all of us Ask users. Wherever you are, Jeeves, please hear us, WE LOVE YOU JEEVES. WE ALWAYS WILL. IF you must be gone, have fun wherever you are. But please return...we'll be waiting. Love, Ari, Kyla, and Jessi

I know the point is moot, but I've been looking for Jeeves online and it doesn't seem likely that a computer savvy guy like him would retire and not be heard from again. the retirement link takes you to a disturbing porn site, which also seems out of character for the guy, but hey, I don't know what he could be into... all in all I'm having a tough time with ask.com's "retirement" answer to jeeve's whereabouts. if you're out there, Jeeves, I love you,man (and if you need a rescue team, blink twice).

You might want to check those links are all going to appropriate sites. One of them was definitely wrong.

WTF really? Jeeves, I think there is no such thing as retirement. I have no use for the internet now.

Since Jeeves has retired we have not used the site. Many others (30 as far as we know, but there is many many more!) have stopped using it to. Please bring Jeeves back! This ask.com is pathetic without Jeeves in charge! Maybe give him a blog or at least something!
