Jeeves Retirement Post Live

Jim Lanzone of Ask Jeeves posted a Thanks, Jeeves blog entry at the Ask Blog. He explains all the reasons why it is time for Jeeves to retire, in that blog post, so it is worth a read. There is also a special Jeeves retirement site at www.jeevesretirement.com/desk.

The Ask.com homepage currently is sporting a link to it as such;

Jeeves you have supplied me with mucho info over the years, I'm going to miss you buddy! I'll be moving to Lycos or Google for my info.

I refuse to use ask.com until jeeves comes back

BRING BACK MY MAN, JEEVES!!!!!

I will not use this "new" BORING site "Ask.com" until you bring back JEEVES>>>>>>>>>>

He's the reason your site was SO popular. I loved to log on several times a week just to see his welcoming face..to see what he was wearing. His smile....We need him......

The world is so blah and JEEVES brightened my day..He's like the Tony the Tiger of the websites. HE's GREAAAAT!

Please do NOT retire him.............

I am so sad.

I really, really miss Jeeves. For years I've usually logged everyday to ask him a question. It was like asking a real person. Now I have to ask the...Computer? How boring! One of the first questions I asked Jeeves, was if I should have children (crazy I know, but he was impartial). He gave me this great "Are you ready to have kids" test. And here I am 5 years later with three kids. We have history - bring him back!!

i will NOT NOT NOT use this site until mr.jeeves comes back that is a PROMISE!!! I MISS YOU MR.JEEVES...

I MISS JEEVES!@!! I won't use ask without him. He was a comforting face in a sea of anonymity. He seemed like a friend. BRING HIM BACK!!!!

Goodbye Jeeves,
You will be missed dearly! (sniff sniff). For some odd reason you were a sight for sore eyes in this harsh, cold, internet world. You made it just a little more comforting just to see your face especially when I was young. When I first started using the internet, I swear this is true, I used your engine because it almost felt as if you were saying.... "do not worry young novice, I will help you find what you are looking for" Did you really retire or did THEY get rid of you like Jimmy Hoffa?? The other day I was looking for you and I found nothing just "ask" and said, where in the world is Jeeves?? I finally figured that "ask" WAS your search engine. If you are out there retired, Please come back! maybe they can bring in your son, Jeeves II. He has not retired yet, or better yet your wife. Mrs Jeeves. That's It! Ask Mrs. Jeeves, She still wants to work! but if you are stubborn and headstrong then go in peace and have fun with your retirement.
You lazy bum!!! how could you desert us like this!!! normally people work for fourty or fifty years, you have only worked for ten! I guess they paid you very well. Oh well, PLEASE COME BACK! THE SEARCH ENGINE IS NOT THE SAME WITHOUT YOU!!!!!!! (BOO HOO HOO HOO) :(

I used jeeves since a very long time ago and the sight was the first one I would go to with any question I had. I even use Jeeves for my college research, I used ask “jeeves” to pick a candidate in the presidential election. But I will never use the boring ask.com unless he comes back...

Ask.com without Jeeves is just an unanswered question.

I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER USE "ask.com" until Jeeves returns. YOU-ask.com workers have made a GRAVE mistake. I have been using Jeeves for years and he has always provided me with sufficeient and more answers. He was a happy face in the complicated world of web browsing. Ask.com is nothing with out him. Why go there when I could go to google? At least that has a cute name. You are loosing a lot of buisness ask, and I have lost a good friend.

Did ask.com notice that there has been nothing but negaive comments on this and similar comment boards? WE WANT JEEVES BACK!!!

Having Jeeves added something to the site that is too often missing from the web. Character. Or perhaps the folk at ask.com might better understand a different term: Brand Recognition. You cant buy it. Bring Jeeves back. What do you say guys?

Bring back Jeeves. Holidays aren't the same without his holiday attire. ask.com is boring without him. now you're just another search engine. It's like Disney w/o Mickey, McDonald's w/o Ronald...this is what made you special and unique. BRING HIM BACK!!!

BOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO I WANT JEEVESSSSSSSSSS!!!! WHAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! PLEASE BRING HIM BACK!!!!!!!! I MISSS HIMMMM!!!! *snif snif* It's just no good without him.

I can not believe that Jeeves i gone, I still go to the site sometimes and expect to see his smiling face. But alas, I do not. It breaks my heart to think that I'll never see him again. Just tears it to pieces.
