MSN Search Update
Marcia reports at both WebmasterWorld & Search Engine Watch Forums that MSN has done some search update. WebmasterWorld senior member steveb confirms;
Yup major shakeup. Apparently MSN thought that two-word.subdomains.com needed to be joined by three-key-words.subdomains.com in the results. Pathetic. It's amazing they haven't lost even more of their market share than they have... or at least they can thank their competitors for that.

My XP Pro got a notification on the desktop of a new update (v10) to MSN Search. After closing the open URL, the notification disappeared. I typed into the (v9) MSN toolbar, "Search the Web" window the following: "MSN search update". IE said it was, "Opening page http://search.msn.com/...(a long string of HTTP commands)...)", and stayed at 9 of 11 bars of progress for several minutes. (Later - it didn't complete its search in more than ten minutes as I typed this comment, so I gave up on it.)
I opened a new IE window (non-MSN) and used Google on the same three-word search text. In 0.82 seconds I was presented with the first ten of nearly seven million results. Meanwhile, MSN has yet to complete its search for its own software.
Maybe I really do need the update, as the v9 search clearly isn't even on the same planet (let alone the same league) as Google.
