A lot of what I cover here comes from community managers in forums, social groups and social networking sites. Community Managers are those responsible for making sure the social community within a network such as a forum, Facebook group, LinkedIn group, Google+ and so forth are productive, efficient and spam free.
Community Managers often front the heat from upset customers or users and often have to take a lot of abuse head on. They also get to reap the reward when users and customers are happy.
That being said, this Monday, January 28th (4th Monday of January), is Community Manager Appreciation Day. Take the time on Monday to say something nice in an online community you are a part of. Thank them, well it doesn't have to be a love letter, but thank them for what they do.
