Andy Drinkwater

This is part of the say something nice about an SEO/SEM series - feel free to nominate someone over here.

Andy Drinkwater lives in Chester, United Kingdom with his girlfriend, Jo. They have two children, Cameron age 17 and Finn age 5. Andy is known in the SEO space as being a pretty good technical SEO, who has been around sharing for years and years. He started in SEO back in 2000, so he has been in the SEO space for almost two decades now.

Throughout the 18 years in SEO, Andy has always been very active within the SEO community. He has shared so much on social media, so much in forums, so much at the Moz community and if you just Google his name you will find videos, content, podcasts and so much more where he has shared his SEO knowledge.

He often goes to SEO meetups and events, which he says he loves to do because he gets to talk to people as passionate as himself about the topic. Andy is a giving and caring person and those that know him pick up on that quickly.

Andy received an anonymous nomination, who wrote:

I would like to nominate our SEO consultant, Andy Drinkwater for the work he has carried out for us in the last 6 years.

In this time, it is the fact he got us on the map with our recruitment agency in the northwest that has directly lead to our business growing from 5 to 20 staff.

He has always taken the time to be available and has often gone beyond what we requested. He also mentored our new marketing communications assistant and has worked closely with our other staff when required.

We have never been a big budget client but Andy still managed to help us grow.

Thank you once again for your help over the years.

Andy Drinkwater Bio: As of 2018, I am in my 18th year as a Technical SEO Consultant. I help clients of all sizes across the globe and in all disciplines, with a range of technical SEO services.

Favorite thing about the SEM community? There are so many characters in the SEO community that make it what it is. I love talking about SEO and attending meetups & events as this gives me a way to stay in contact with others who are equally as passionate.

One piece of advice to the SEMs out there? Get your site structure and internal links in order. There are amazing gains to be had by spending a bit of time getting this just right.

Favorite things in general? I am a lifelong fan of Chinese and TexMex food and although I tend to be busy quite a lot, I do like to get out and try new restaurants when I can. I am also (still) a bit of a petrol-head and love cars. We also live close to Oulton Park in Cheshire, so I do take my BMW on track days when I can.

What you want to be known for in the SEM space? Technical SEO / Auditing & Reputation Management. These are the fields I am busiest in all of the time.

You can learn more about Andy on his site, follow him on Twitter or connect with him on LinkedIn.
