Google Fiber Stickers

With Google Fiber officially launching and that bunny running all over the place, Google is doing small things to promote it outside of touting gigabit speeds. Such as providing Google Fiber stickers with the Fiber bunny on them.

John McDole from Google posted a picture of the stickers on Google+.

He wrote, "I <3 sticker schwag. More for my laptop."

This post is part of our daily Search Photo of the Day column, where we find fun and interesting photos related to the search industry and share them with our readers.

Does anyone really trust that Google would not use subscriber data to squeeze more money out of people? Google failed to delete their Street View data. Imagine Google controlling how you got online and where you find what you are searching for. This seems a bit anti-competitive to me. And stickers just are not a good tradeoff for ones privacy. It's time that Google be declared the monopoly they are and be broken up.

Frankly, I think Google has done a lot more for the internet and unchaining its full potential than any other company has done single-handedly. I work as an IT for a K-12 school district and I have had the joy of working right alongside Google to ensure we get our new free Fiber connectivity set up around our needs. From what I've seen, they don't want our money, they want to get our internet speeds faster than they've ever been before, making our IDL lab faster, internet assessments quicker, and our students able to focus less on the loading screen, and more on succeeding. So no, I'm really not concerned about them using whatever data to squeeze more money out of anyone.

last time I checked Google general services are free.. Unless your an advertiser. If you don't like Google a your search engine.. there are other search engines you can use.. Google's not blocking you or charging you more to use another search site. Just now Google is trying to get into the streaming video rentals and pay internet. I would pay Google 4x what they are asking for Google fiber if i could get it. Oh the horror of getting a better internet service at higher speeds and lower cost and no data caps.. ATT is current raping my wallet data cap fee's to the tune of $200.00 a month
