Red Bing Street View Car

People are starting to spot and notice more and more street view cars, not from Google, but from Microsoft Bing. Here is a red one, same type of car as from the white one we posted a few months ago.

The picture was taken by Eric Gehler and posted on Google+, he wrote:

Saw this Quote: Was like sweet I'm behind one of the Google maps cars then realized its just Bing.

This post is part of our daily Search Photo of the Day column, where we find fun and interesting photos related to the search industry and share them with our readers.

It is about time that somebody makes a competitor to StreetView. Google has had a tremendous lead time on this, both in terms of how much and where they have mapped. But, a start is a start. I just hope that Bing also does their Streetside OUTSIDE of the U.S. as well as inside. One of Bing's shortcomings is that it is too U.S.-centric. Hey, Dr. Satya Nadella, make Bing more international in all respects, and its adoption outside the U.S. might increase
