The Google Fabergé Egg Doodle

Today is the 166th birthday of the Russian Jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé. Fabergé was best known for his Easter Egg Jewelry, where he used precious metals and jewels and put them in the form of eggs. This Jewelry art has become known as Fabergé eggs.

Today's Google Logo, aka Doodle, is to remember his contributions to the world by displaying a Google Fabergé Egg Doodle:

Peter Fabergé was born on May 30, 1846 in Saint Petersburg, Russia to a family in the Jewelry trade. In 1882 he took over the family business after the death of his father's trusted worker Hiskias Pendin. In 1885, Tsar Alexander III gave the House of Fabergé the title and his Easter Eggs were being made from 1885 to 1917 in House of Fabergé. He made about 50 but only 42 still exist to this day.
