Google Tests New Search Results Design

Google ExperimentsGoogle frequently tests new interfaces, layouts, colors and placements of icons, buttons and links. But when they do these tests, it seems a very limited number of people see it. But over the weekend, Google did a search results interface test and it seemed to me that Google let it lose to a larger set of testers then they have done so before. Or maybe the test was so outrageous that testers actually cared enough to complain?
