Google MApsOne of my pet peeves with Google Maps is that it doesn't remember my home or office location, even though I am signed in. So I have to type it out each time I want to check directions or time of travel with traffic.

Google announced, prematurely - since it is not available yet, that you can now quickly save your home and work locations and quickly search on them by typing "home" or "work" into the directions box in Google Maps.

The feature is not live yet, although it should be soon. Here are screen shots of how it will look:

Save The Location Once:

It Remembers and Autocompletes:

Special Icon On Maps:

Small things like this can be huge time savers.

It has made our way simple we can now easily reach to our work place as well as home.

Does not work... type "home", it thinks "home depot".

It used to work a while ago but not any more for some reason, though I'm logged into my google account and have set Home and Work in my places.

it doesn't work anymore - home gets you random searches with home in it: home depot, homer simpson, etc.

It DOES still work, but slowly - and ONLY if you give it time to display your (home or work) address. If not, you get what dan mentioned. Specifically, WFM in Safari on MacOSX and iOS. Another thing that now works is I can simply google 'directions to work' and the first search result is directions from where I am (as determined by, perhaps, IP geolocation) to my home or work.
