Google's John Mueller SMX

I am very excited to announce that John Mueller, a webmaster like you all, but now one of the most helpful Google webmaster representatives, will be the keynote speaker at SMX Israel this coming January 26th.

John's Keynote will provide an overview of major pitfalls webmasters encounter, what are the most important areas webmasters should focus on in 2014 and live question and answer towards the end. Besides for keynoting at SMX Israel, John will also be a speaker in a few other panels including internationalization, mobile SEO, and recovering from Google penalties. John will also spend his time at SMX Israel answering questions both on stage and one-on-one with SMX Israel attendees.

So if you are in the area on January 26th or looking to schedule a family vacation, make Sunday a day about SEO, SEM and Social and register for SMX Israel.

"John Mueller, a webmaster like you all" I found two websites related to him : johnmu.com - last update on Dec 2008 johannesmueller.com - place holder I also took a brief look at his latest activity on http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/users/711/john-mueller?tab=answers&sort=newest and didn't find any evidence, that he has any clue about coding. How is he a webmaster then ? Did I miss something or was it your strange sarcasm, calling him "webmaster like you all" ?

So ? And how is he "a webmaster like you all" ? Seems more like another SEO, who, as usually, knows a lot of theories, but lack of practice, just working for Google. Please show me the website he worked on, not news article about him.

He WAS a webmaster, stopped in 2007. Why are you giving me a hard time. He built and worked on many sites before 2007.

Why am I giving you a hard time ? "He built and worked on many sites before 2007." - that's why. In 2007 jQuery was just released, JavaScript was a nightmare, resources of the PCs were on average three times less, etc etc etc Before 2007 were "middle ages". It's like the crusader will make smart talking about the computers ) Common, I know you respect him and have a nostalgia, but be reasonable, calling him "a webmaster like you all". Otherwise information, provided by you, seems to be biased. Nothing personal, just facts )

Nah, you always get personal with comments but I don’t take offense. He knows web programming and how to build web sites better than most webmasters. But I know how much you love Google.

"He knows web programming and how to build web sites better than most webmasters. " If this would be mentioned in your article above, following by the precise examples, then this conversation wouldn't happened. "you always get personal" - Pardon, still studying ) btw, why did you refuse to comment on Danny Sullivan speech?

I didn’t comment because that is your personal take on him and not mine.

But I didn't ask to comment on my personal take. His words attracted my attention, thought you would be interested too. Ok, never mind)

Thinking a bit more, I have to admit, that probably your article is good enough for Durant&Co. This is your main audience and sure they will not dig, as I always do. They will be just proud to know, that "John Mueller, a webmaster like you all". Probably your personal blog is just not the right place for me.

Will the full talk be available for those who cannot make it to Israel?

I think John Mueller is an excellent choice. I may make it there myself. Considering his position at Google, you'd have to assume that he's got a great deal of insight into best practices and someone who can provide insight into what is on the horizon.

Well, if you still believe, that SEO can help somehow and want to see Israel, then why not. For me it's clear, that person who is not in web development since 2007, but just around it can share only "How-To" style texts, published already or something obvious or gossips.
