Today, April 25, 2013, Google is honoring the life of Ella Fitzgerald with a special Google Doodle (logo) worldwide.

Ella Fitzgerald was a prominent singer, vocalist, with the nicknames "First Lady of Song", "Queen of Jazz", and "Lady Ella". She sold 40 million copies of her 70-plus albums, won 13 Grammy Awards all over a course of a 59 year carrer. She also was awarded the National Medal of Arts by Ronald Reagan and the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George H. W. Bush.

She lived 79 years, born on April 25, 1917 in Newport News, Virginia and passing on June 15, 1996 in Beverly Hills, California.
