Moderation & Email Controls Improved In Google+ Communities

Google+ Communities IconOne of the most annoying aspects of Google+ Communities, at least for me, were the email notifications I received for communities I happen to be a moderator of. Google said they added email notification controls with an update yesterday. Plus, they improved the moderation of potentially spam messages in a community.

(1) Email Notifications Controls: Google+ Communities now has a toggle for on and off to be notified of posts in a Google+ Community you manage. You can find it in the Google+ settings page:

(2) A new flag is now at the top right of the community, highlighting if and how many spam messages are in a queue for you to review.

The flag will show the number of messages marked as spam and then send you to a page to review those selections. Here are screen shots:
