There is a fun Google logo or Doodle on various Google properties today for Pippi Longstocking. Pippi Longstocking is a "fictional character in a series of children's books by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, and adapted into multiple films and television series."

Google Pippi Longstocking

The only thing is I don't see why we would have this logo today. I don't see any mention of November 26th associated with the book or show. But who knows, I have never heard of the Pippi Longstocking character.

The logo can be seen on many Google properties like Google Israel, Google Russia, Google Italy and many more.

Update: @samdaams pointed me to a Swedish article that says she turned 65 today. I still don't see that documented anywhere else, but sounds good to me.

On the 26th November 1945 Astrid Lindgren brought home the first printed book about Pippi and since that day it's considered to be her birthday. Pippi turns 65 years old today! =)

The logo is appearing in Google.es too. There was a TV show about that girl several years ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRktvd1hXh8

I watched Pippi when I was growing up in Canada, I think from those tv programs she would be about 54 years old if the programs were shown in the same year. Billy in Alberta

Okay so there was a Swedish author and books back in 1945 well I guess that was long before my time. She was quite a curious little girl as I recall!!! Billy in Calgary Alberta
