Rumor has it -- as reported on Search Engine Land and Liveside -- that Microsoft is rebranding its search under the name According to the reports, is owned by Microsoft and points to nameservers. It also provides Microsoft employees with an internal site.

Whether or not it's true is only speculation at this point. However, sentiment is pretty heavily expressed against Microsoft taking this approach.

Well, Sean Suchter's jump to MS, its acquisition of a site (kumo) with the name meaning 'spider' in Japanese, all point to only one thing, that MS is in the third rebrand or perhaps on way to building some search engine like Yahoo. But Google will be tough to compete with. Maybe, we can speculate that Kumo is gonna be something other than just normal search!!
