Minor Reports of Google Search November Update

I have seen two smallish thread, relative to a normal Google update thread, that discusses changes in the Google search results. A WebmasterWorld thread and DigitalPoint Forums thread has discussion around some changes being noticed in Google.

Now, typically these threads are much larger. So I was a bit hesitant to post this information. In fact, I would not be surprised if this was just a quick blurb that went away.

This does come soon after the Yahoo November update this past Friday. The last Google update reported was in early November and turned out to be a bug in the search results.

Forum discussion at WebmasterWorld and DigitalPoint Forums.

In the UK were seeing a lot more directory/job listing style pages returned for all keywords but especially localised keywords. I've seen the number of returned pages go up a lot as well.
They used to have a lot more of these type of pages a while back but they had almost gone from the SERPs, but now theyre back again with a vengeance and my clients have suffered.

It seems to be a bit tamer this year than in previous years. I've got clients whose results are changing and clients whose results are rock solid steady.

Maybe Google just didn't feel the need to address any major spam patterns this Fall. It's hard to say.

Since they make minor tweaks and changes almost every week anyway, perhaps the day of the Big Google Shakeups is almost done. That would be kind of nice.
