A DigitalPoint Forums thread features a poll about the Google AdSense publishers' earnings for the year. It seems that most people have made between $500 and $2000.
Another DigitalPoint Forums thread has a lot more varied answers. Someone, for example, made less than $1. A few people made in the $200 or $300 range. Most people, however, really made under $1000.

@dave: Interesting that you want more granularity. I was thinking less was in order. At the end of the day, making $2300 or $3700 in AdSense for a year is really kind of moot, isn't it? Another way to look at it might be: 1-1,000 1,001-10,000 10,000-50,000 >50,000 From a marketing perspective, that tells you who is able to make a living or at least a significant revenue stream from AdSense, who is on the cusp of doing so, who is effectively starting out or just having a little success and who is not generating any relevant revenue from the program. But I think the poll is fine the way it is. Would love to see a followup that combined all contextual networks.

I am in the $201-$500 range. What is the secret for placement of the banners for a higher revenue? I have my banners at the header of each page as well as at the footer of the each page. Note: my revenue was for about 6 months.

If more people clicked my ads -- I'd make even more money. Should I have more sites or better sites? "I say a video 'click my Google ads'-- it was funny, sad but true."

Reay, what is the secret of making more money in 6 month? I mean more than 200$-500$? just some of them is able to reach even 5000$... so question is: "what they are doin"?

What are we doing to make more than 5000 (I make roughly that) a year? well let's see. Don't put too many ads on a page, do blend the ads well, do get a lot of visitors with content that people come back to. But with the month I've been having I doubt this year will go as well as last. Good thing adsense is only one of my sources of income.

One should really move to have multiple source of income. Adsense is still good but sometinme it is better to sell prodcut with certain topic.
