Today, on Google's home page, worldwide, is a special Google Doodle, Google Logo, for painter, Wassily Kandinsky.

Wassily Kandinsky would be celebrating his 148th birthday today. Born in Moscow on December 16, 1866 - he was influential Russian painter and art theorist, being known for painting the first abstract painting ever. He may be known as the father of abstract painting by some.

He died 3 days before his 78th birthday, on December 13, 1944 in France.

Google is remembering his work and life by placing a Google Doodle on the home page on his 148th birthday.
