Google: We're Still Using PageRank After 18 Years

Google Toolbar PageRank

Several months ago, Gary Illyes from Google said Google still uses PageRank and this morning, for some reason, Gary felt the need to state that message again on Twitter. He said, "DYK that after 18 years we're still using PageRank (and 100s of other signals) in ranking?"

Here is the tweet:

We know Google killed PageRank off from the Google Toolbar almost a year ago. But that does not mean Google doesn't use PageRank internally - they said they do and Gary repeated it today.

How should this impact you and your SEO? Well, it really shouldn't. Just build stuff people like and want to link to.

Forum discussion at Twitter.

Why is he even mentioning this if it isn't a public unit of measurement?

Google are a bunch of liars. Those 1000 signals they supposedly use could be resume in only one: BACKLINKS

Like I have said many times and Google always confuse SEOs. It's all about Paid Marketing that means Google only wants you to buy Keywords from Adwords, Use Google 360 Suits and make them more rich.

I do see this to confirm at minimum to support my reconsideration of where I currently score PR when considering the needs of a respective domain.

..they are using 100 of signals and all signals are based on only two things "LINKS & CONTENT"....share the complete list of signals..
